The Jedi village represented an early Jedi settlement located on the Temple Island of Ahch-To, serving as a home for the initial Jedi.
This settlement, comprising archaic stone constructions and austere dwellings offering minimal comfort, predates Jedi Master Luke Skywalker's occupancy by an incalculable number of years. Skywalker established his residence within a hut in this village, while also providing accommodation for Rey in another during her time on the island. The Caretakers of the Lanai also inhabited and upkept the huts within the village.

The Temple Island was the site of the founding of a humble village, designed to house the original members of the Jedi Order. Although it had been largely forgotten by the Jedi Knights and their Masters over countless years, the Jedi village remained standing millennia later. The Caretakers, responsible for the site's upkeep, persisted in their duty of maintaining the huts in habitable condition, even after the Jedi had left. Luke Skywalker, a Jedi Master, rediscovered the village's existence while delving into the Order's history.
Filming of the village scenes occurred on Skellig Michael, an island situated off the Irish coast. The ruins of an ancient Christian monastery, once a refuge for Celtic Monks who sought isolation from mainstream society, were utilized to represent the temple.
