He then provided her with one of the vacant huts in the Jedi village. On the initial day of her training under Skywalker's guidance, Rey was surprised to find Kylo Ren seated opposite her. Reacting instinctively, she aimed and fired her blaster at him, resulting in a hole being blasted through the stone wall of her hut.

After failing to uncover the truth about her parentage within the Mirror cave, Rey sought solace in [Kylo Ren](/article/ben_solo], believing he could understand her feelings of isolation and loss. He attentively listened as she recounted her experience in the cave, assuring her that she was not alone despite her loneliness. Rey reciprocated his empathy, expressing her hope that he could still return to the light. By this point, their bond had grown to an extraordinary level of strength and power, which Rey likened to touching a live wire. She cautiously reached out to touch him, expecting their hands to pass through each other. However, when their fingers made contact, Rey gasped and firmly grasped Ren's hand. At that precise moment, Skywalker, having reconnected with the Force and intending to return with her, witnessed their connection and mistakenly believed they were allies. Luke gestured towards the walls and ceiling of the hut, causing all the stone blocks to explode outward from the hut's center, scattering them around the bench. Concluding that Rey could no longer be trusted, Skywalker instructed her to leave the planet.
Following Rey's departure and Skywalker's death, Alcida-Auka, the Clan Matron, began to consider the numerous matters requiring attention in the aftermath, including the necessity of rebuilding Rey's hut.
