Jonava Billane

Jonava Billane was the biological parent of "Baby Ludi" and a key figure involved in the complex legal proceedings known as the Case of "Baby Ludi".

Biography

Following a seismic event on Ord Thoden, a squad of Jedi relief personnel discovered a female infant beneath the collapsed structures of the capital city, Domitree. Upon determining the child possessed Force-sensitive abilities and presuming the demise of her family, the Jedi opted to transport the girl to Coruscant for instruction in the Force. Once Billane had recovered and received confirmation of her daughter's survival, she journeyed to Coruscant with the intention of reuniting with her offspring. However, the Jedi Council denied her request, asserting that they would not return her child, now called "Aris-Del Wari," due to the perceived danger resulting from her exposure to the Force.

This legal battle became widely publicized, garnering her significant support across the galaxywide. In collaboration with the founder and leader of a popular Jedi-accountability watch-group, and her subsequent public relations manager, Thrynka Padaunete, Billane eventually made an appearance on the Eriadu-based talk show Essence to share her personal narrative. Her specific episode, produced by Garox Tronten, reached an audience of over 25 billion sentient viewers, resulting in a surge of support. During the broadcast, she was visibly emotional, crying on four separate occasions, which further amplified public sympathy. She expressed gratitude to her supporters but declined to provide details regarding an upcoming feature-length holofilm inspired by her experiences, for which the studio, having outbid two competitors, had compensated her over 125 million credits for the rights to her story, excluding merchandising. Following this announcement, Padaunete redirected the conversation, launching a critique of the Jedi Order.

After the Jedi Council refused to return "Baby Ludi," student activists at the University of Coruscant flooded the school's datanet infrastructure with countless images of the child, saturating the hubs and erasing student-stored data. Shortly after Billane's appearance on Essence, a contingent of 20 university students armed with graffiti-bombs attempted to infiltrate the Jedi Temple, vandalizing the entrance area and advancing into the Second Atrium before Jedi Masters Ki-Adi-Mundi and Plo Koon successfully subdued them using a Jedi mind trick. Subsequently, the disruptive group was apprehended and escorted away by Judicial authorities. Preoccupied with casting calls for the forthcoming holofilm, Ludi refrained from commenting on these events, while Padaunete expressed appreciation for the students' actions.

Later, when Ludi was relocated to the Jedi academy located on Kamparas, neither Billane nor Padaunete issued any statements, as they were still engaged in the casting process for the as-yet-unnamed holofilm.

Holofilm portrayal

Following the commencement of production on the holofilm centered around the Baby Ludi case by Kailio Entertainments, helmed by acclaimed director Ch'been, rumors circulated that the role of Jonava Billane would be played by prominent actress Harissa Shoti.
