Jurio, located within the Jurio system, existed as a planet situated within the Corva sector. This sector was itself a part of the New Territories region, found within the larger Outer Rim Territories. The winged Juriod fang-flier considered this planet its home.
In the period spanning 3681 BBY to 3669 BBY, the reconstituted Sith Empire successfully conquered Jurio during the initial years of their invasion against the Galactic Republic. Following the conquest, the Empire established its rule over Jurio. This Imperial governance enabled Captain Adronik Hyllus of the Imperial Military to marry a Human woman who was native to Jurio. In 3669 BBY, the couple had a son on Jurio, whom they named Vector.
For numerous subsequent years, the planet remained under the control of the Empire. Later, during his career, Rane Kovach, an intelligence operative, undertook a mission on Jurio at the behest of Theron Shan from the Republic Strategic Information Service. Kovach's assignment involved infiltrating groups of dissidents and instigating a revolution against the Sith Empire, all while keeping casualties to a minimum.
The initial mention of Jurio appeared in the Codex entry dedicated to Vector Hyllus within Star Wars: The Old Republic, a video game that was released in 2011 by BioWare. The reference work The Essential Atlas, published in 2009, indicated that the Jurio star system, and consequently the planet itself, was located within grid square P-4.
