Kaird

A male Nediji assassin of the Black Sun, named Kaird, served as a member within their ranks. He was dispatched to Drongar in 20 BBY during the Clone Wars with the mission of investigating the disappearance of Mathal, a fellow operative. Mathal had been in charge of overseeing the smuggling operations of bota from Drongar.

Biography

Born on Nedij, a planet situated in the outer reaches of the galaxy, Kaird's past involved exile from his own people due to transgressions that ostracized him. Leaving his homeworld, he became a Black Sun member, dedicating several years to a prosperous career as their assassin.

During the Clone Wars period, his superiors instructed him to delve into the mysterious vanishing of Mathal, a Black Sun agent assigned to Drongar to secure a bota shipment, a plant renowned for its adaptogenic, miraculous qualities. Employing various temporary disguises, such as those of a Kubaz, a Human, and a member of The Silent, Kaird managed to infiltrate and navigate RMSU-7 to gather intelligence. Shortly after his arrival, he assassinated Galactic Republic Admiral Tarnese Bleyd, a corrupt official who had been collaborating with Rimsoo quartermaster Filba the Hutt, who had also murdered the missing operative Mathal. Discovering that the bota was undergoing a mutation rendering it valueless, Kaird conceived a scheme to abscond with a portion of the wonder drug for his own benefit, encasing it in carbonite for later sale, hoping to amass a sufficient fortune to retire from Black Sun and return to his home world of Nedij.

Kaird enlisted Thula, a Falleen female, and Squa Tront, an Umbaran male, both con artists, to aid in his plan. However, they betrayed him, providing a carbonite container filled with explosives instead of bota. Barely escaping death, Kaird resumed his duties with Black Sun, while harboring a desire for retribution against the treacherous pair.

Post-Drongar

Following his experiences on Drongar, Kaird sought to undermine Prince Xizor, a competitor for the position of Black Sun Vigo. When Dal Perhi, aware of Kaird's longing to return to Nedij, requested him to eliminate Xizor, Kaird seized the opportunity, seeing it as a means of finally leaving Black Sun. However, Xizor outmaneuvered him, capturing him and using him as a test subject to observe the Human replica droid version of Perhi. Subsequently, Xizor transported Kaird to his outpost in the Factory District, intending to brainwash him. Upon arrival, they discovered the outpost had been destroyed by feral droids, exposing Xizor. Jax Pavan and his allies eventually arrived, and Xizor captured them using the droid called Bug-Eyes. After a duel between Xizor and Jax, they discovered that Vader was approaching. Kaird was freed, and they made their escape. Kaird offered his money to the allies, deeming it useless on Nedij, and began preparations for his return home.
