Kalarba pirates
The Kalarba pirates operated throughout the galaxy amidst the Clone Wars, a conflict involving the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Just as other similar factions did, the Kalarba pirates received backing from the Confederacy's administration; Count Dooku, the leader of the Confederacy, incentivized them to disrupt the Republic's supply routes throughout the duration of the war. The pirates' moniker was the same as Kalarba, a celestial body situated within the Mid Rim Territories.
Behind the scenes
The Kalarba pirates are now part of the official Star Wars canon, having been referenced in Rise of the Separatists. This source is a 2019 addition to the Star Wars Roleplaying series from Fantasy Flight Games. These pirates initially appeared in the Star Wars Legends timeline through the 2008 novel titled The Clone Wars: Wild Space, authored by Karen Miller.
