Kerritamba Village existed as one of several ground-based settlements of the Wookiee people found on the planet of Kashyyyk.
Located on the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk, Kerritamba Village functioned as a city. It differed from most Kashyyyk settlements in that it was built on the forest floor, instead of within a wroshyr tree. For countless generations, the inhabitants of this village dedicated themselves to safeguarding the native Kkowir Forest and the Great Tree from the sinister influence of the Sayormi species.
During the Galactic Civil War, the village was under the leadership of Chief Kerritamba. During his time as chief, the Great Tree was poisoned by the Sayormi, so he tasked an outsider with gathering the components needed to create an antidote. Once that was done, he then instructed that same individual to launch an attack against the Sayormi.
The video game Star Wars Galaxies: Rage of the Wookiees, which was shut down on December 15, 2011, was the first appearance of Kerritamba Village. Later, the novelization of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II from 2010 mentioned it.
