A Human female named Kiara Olvidan was the offspring of Faskus Olvidan. Faskus, acting under the orders of Byalfin Dyur and ultimately directed by Lumiya, was tasked with concealing the Amulet of Kalara within a Ziost cave as an intricate trial for Ben Skywalker. Kiara accompanied her father to Ziost, where he suffered fatal injuries while saving her from an attack on their landed YT-2400 freighter, the Blacktooth, by pirates also working for Lumiya. Following her father's demise, she and Ben Skywalker successfully evaded Dyur's assassination attempts and fled the planet in Ship, and she was then returned to Drewwa.
Around 34 ABY, Kiara Olvidan entered the world, born to Faskus Olvidan and an unidentified mother, presumably on Drewwa. At approximately six years old, her father, a petty criminal, was commissioned by Lumiya to abscond with the Amulet of Kalara and transport it to the planet Ziost. Despite instructions to travel alone, Faskus brought Kiara along. They journeyed there aboard a YT-2400 freighter. Upon arrival, Faskus ventured into the forest, leaving Kiara on the ship. A TIE fighter then appeared and destroyed the ship, but Faskus managed to rescue her. Sadly, he sustained a fatal chest wound from the flying wreckage. Their mission to Ziost and the subsequent attack were part of an elaborate scheme orchestrated by Lumiya and Jacen Solo, soon to become Darth Caedus, to assess Ben Skywalker's potential as a Sith. Ben, believing Kiara's father to be a Sith Acolyte, attacked him, worsening his injuries. He passed away after entrusting Kiara to Ben's care. Initially, Ben considered leaving Kiara to die, reasoning that she would impede his mission to return the Amulet to Jacen Solo; however, after watching a prerecorded message from his parents wishing him a happy fourteenth birthday, Ben went back to Kiara's camp for her. Together, they covered her father's body with rocks as a makeshift burial before heading to coordinates Ben discovered on Faskus's datapad. During their journey across Ziost, accompanied by an astromech droid named Shaker, they faced constant threats from the TIE fighter piloted by one of Dyur's agents, ferocious wild neks, and starvation. Ultimately, the pair escaped Ziost aboard a Sith Meditation Sphere piloted by Ben, who then returned Kiara to her home planet of Drewwa.
Ben suspected that she possessed Force-sensitive abilities.
In the "Dramatis Personae" section of Exile, Kiara is identified as a "Chud." Sue Rostoni clarified on the StarWars.com forums that the "il" in "child" was mistakenly read as a "u."
