Sith Meditation Sphere

The Sith Meditation Sphere functioned as an ancient warship utilized by the Sith Empire for the purpose of battle meditation. It is known that at least one meditation sphere survived the events of the Great Hyperspace War and was subsequently employed by both Lumiya's Sith and the Lost Tribe of Sith.

Characteristics

Naga Sadow's Sith Meditation Sphere.

These meditation spheres were constructed as spherical attack vehicles, each measuring ten meters in diameter. Their appearance was akin to enormous, levitating eyeballs, complete with wing-like appendages resembling those of a bat.

At the very center of the meditation sphere utilized by Naga Sadow was the Sith Lord's personal meditation chamber. This chamber was characterized by jagged, inward-sloping walls. Within this space, the Sith Lord would assume a crouching position, concentrating his dark side energies to amplify his intentions. These amplified intentions were then projected over vast distances, enabling him to command his armies and secure victory for his forces. The Sphere allowed the Dark Lord to generate Illusions and make them real enough to cause damage, providing him with an advantage in combat.

Within his chamber, he possessed the capability to observe the entire galaxy spread out before him and monitor the progress of his subordinates. A massive holoscreen mounted on the wall provided even more detailed tactical information.

History

Naga Sadow fabricated his sphere on the clandestine world designated as Khar Shian. This particular vessel met its end during the Battle at Primus Goluud, an engagement that occurred during the Great Hyperspace War in the year 5000 BBY.

As time progressed, these spheres appear to have been superseded by meditation chambers. Some of these chambers, retaining the spherical form, were integrated into larger Sith vessels, such as Lord Kaan's Nightfall.

Ben Skywalker both activated and piloted another Sith Meditation Sphere as a means of escaping Ziost during the Second Galactic Civil War. This vessel exhibited a degree of self-awareness, guiding Ben through voices over a period spanning several days. It was revealed that the ship had previously been piloted by a female member of the original Sith species. Armament included a ventral laser cannon and a dorsal magnetic accelerator. Ben also commented that the Meditation Sphere appeared to possess whatever weapons one desired.

Following Ben's return to the Anakin Solo aboard the Meditation Sphere, Jacen Solo subsequently transferred ownership of the ship to Lumiya. Ben engaged in further communication with the ship, noting its intense curiosity regarding the whereabouts of the Sith. After Lumiya's death at the hands of a grief-stricken Luke Skywalker the ship was commandeered by Alema Rar.

Alema Rar then utilized the sphere to reach Lumiya's habitat, where she discovered a chip containing the coordinates of Korriban. She used the chip's data to locate the Sith order concealed upon Korriban. Subsequently, she traveled to Kashyyyk and aided the Anakin Solo in its escape following their attack on that world.

When Jaina Solo, Zekk, and Jagged Fel tracked Alema Rar to Lumiya's former refuge, Zekk was able to draw upon the dark side of the Force to persuade the sphere to abandon Alema's service. The sphere then departed, seeking a master it deemed truly worthy. Shortly thereafter, it was observed in the vicinity of Ziost by the crew of the Poison Moon, a One Sith frigate commanded by Dician.

Dician spoke with the sphere and ordered it to accompany her to Korriban and serve the One Sith. The ship rejected the philosophy of the new Sith order and departed for Kesh to make contact with the Sith residing there, with the intention of assisting in the creation of a force to invade the galaxy and strike at the New Jedi Order. With the rise of Abeloth, Ship was forced to do her will, and was hunted by the Jedi in hopes of finding and defeating Abeloth once and for all.
