The abduction of Setenna Hase occurred during the era of the Galactic Civil War on the world of Jagomir.
Following the Battle of the Gauntlet, which resulted in the destruction of their base on Arda I, the Rebel Alliance established a new headquarters on Jagomir. Shortly after completing construction of their new base, the Rebels began to survey the surrounding territory. During this survey, they uncovered indications of a mole operating within their ranks. Subsequently, they were ambushed by evarrians from a nearby settlement, but successfully repelled the attack and returned to base with this information.
To identify the betrayer, the Rebels began questioning various Alliance members concerning their locations, histories, and knowledge of sensitive operations. Individuals subjected to questioning included Dressellian pilot Dorrian Vodani, Wookiee warrior Isshtharr, Bothan intelligence agent Masi Qual, Human pilot Rik Torrence, Ithorian envoy Urtuaa Haaot, and mechanic LOM-series protocol droid VX-19. Ultimately, Lieutenant Var Narek was revealed to be an Imperial agent and a traitor to the Alliance.
Var Narek proceeded to take Senior Advisor Setenna Hase as a captive and escaped with her on a 74-Z speeder bike. The Rebels pursued him through the wetlands of Jagomir, but he succeeded in fleeing the planet aboard a JumpMaster 5000. Var Narek charted a course for Ord Radama with the intention of having Setenna Hase interrogated by Imperial Intelligence. The Rebels soon launched a mission to rescue the important Alliance leader.
