Kothlis II

A Kothlis II, which was a Rebel Platform situated in orbit around the planet Kothlis, functioned as the Rebel Alliance's base of operations within that star system. A Golan space defense platform known as Sentinel, along with a squadron of starfighters, provided defense for the platform.

Following the Rebels' successful acquisition of a clandestine Imperial supercomputer being transported aboard the freighter Suprosa from Coruscant to Bothawui, the captured computer was transported to Kothlis to be decoded. However, the Imperials managed to trace its location, and the Emperor himself dispatched Darth Vader to Kothlis. Vader's mission included capturing Luke Skywalker, who was being held captive on the planet by a group of bounty hunters, and creating the illusion that the Empire was genuinely concerned about the loss of the computer. To reinforce this deception, the Executor, accompanied by the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer Avenger, arrived in the system.

This led to the Battle of Kothlis, an engagement in which both Kothlis II and the Sentinel suffered destruction during the assault. Despite the losses, the supercomputer was successfully secured and delivered to Alliance High Command. They later discovered that it contained the secret plans for the Second Death Star, which was still under construction above the Forest Moon of Endor.

However, it appears that the station was reconstructed by 25 ABY, as it housed Kyp's Dozen leading up to the Battle of Fondor.

Behind the scenes

Within the game Star Wars: TIE Fighter, Maarek Stele, the player character, is tasked by Darth Vader to board the Garrett and seize a XQ5 platform identified as Kothlis II. Rebel starfighters, crewed by Bothans, defended this platform. The computer was then transferred to an Assassin-class corvette named Timoth 4, instead of the Razor. In the game, the station is captured, not destroyed.
