Krin Vel was a Twi'lek moisture farmer residing on the desert planet of Tatooine during the time of the Galactic Civil War.
Kitster Chanchani Banai counted Krin Vel as a friend. During 1 ABY, Drik Bandrik, a slaver, became angered by Kitster Banai's relentless efforts to improve the lives of slaves on Tatooine. To discredit Kitster, Drik Bandrik orchestrated a scheme to frame him for the alleged murder of Krin Vel. Drik compensated Krin to vacate Mos Espa temporarily, allowing Sont Toipo, the local vigilante leader, to gather an incensed mob with the intent of killing Kitster. At that moment, Krin Vel was completely unaware of the plot being hatched against her friend. This angry group of moisture farmers were under the impression that Krin Vel had been murdered.
However, a spacer in the employ of Kitster managed to eliminate Sont Toipo and disperse his mob through fear. Following this, the spacer sought out Krin Vel, with the intention of her assisting Kitster in clearing his name. Upon being found by the spacer, Krin maintained that she was ignorant of her role in the frame-up. She begged the spacer to return her to Mos Espa. The spacer then escorted her back to the city, where Kitster declared that with Krin's assistance, they would ensure Drik Bandrik was brought to prison. Luckily for Kitster, Krin Vel aided him in gathering sufficient evidence to exonerate him from all of Drik's fabricated accusations. The spacer was subsequently assigned the task of delivering the evidence to a Kitonak named Thermal Det, so that the information would be released to the public.
Krin Vel was featured as a Non-Player Character (NPC) within the MMORPG titled Star Wars Galaxies, before the game's servers were shut down on December 15, 2011. Players undertaking a series of quests for Kitster in Mos Espa were required to locate and escort Krin Vel back to the city.
