Kufa, a senior female Evereni, was related as a cousin to Marchion Ro, also known as the Eye of the Nihil. Her facial tattoos mirrored the lightning-bolt insignia of the Nihil marauder group. On the cold planet Rystan, Ro encountered Kufa, expressing his desire to be escorted, along with the Talortai navigator Udi Dis, to the Shrine. Upon reaching the Shrine and discovering the Great Leveler inside, Ro committed killed Kufa to take possession of the Leveler.
