Despite their never co-existing, it bore a strong resemblance to ranite; however, ranite exhibited greater density and resilience. Legend has it that the confessional located within the Martyrium of Frozen Tears on Tython was constructed entirely from kyberite.
In contrast to kyber crystals, which resonated with The Force, kyberite possessed an inverse property. Rather than negating the Force, it facilitated its channeling and direction. Istan Zaly, a Separatist scientist, proposed the theory that kyber crystals developed in direct antagonism to kyberite. Driven by this theory, he engineered the Zaly Shield utilizing kyberite, aiming to enhance the Force abilities of individuals with limited Force sensitivity. Kyberite plating provided protection against telepathic intrusions and detection. A vessel shielded with kyberite was able to evade detection by a dormant summa-verminoth, notwithstanding the creature's formidable psychic abilities used to incapacitate prey.
