Lady Blue

Lady Blue served as a pilot of starfighters for the Rebel Alliance. She was stationed on the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser named Liberty in the time period just prior to the Battle of Endor. Winning the title of Miss Liberty in 2 ABY, she was regarded as beautiful. Emon Azzameen attempted to arrange a date between her and his brother, fellow pilot Ace Azzameen, but she was killed during a reconnaissance mission to the Japai system before the date could occur. Ace never had the opportunity to meet her, though he kept a photo she had sent him in his living quarters, and Emon was unable to be present at her funeral.

Biography

As a female Human, Lady Blue became a member of the Alliance to Restore the Republic as a pilot of starfighters within the Alliance Starfighter Corps at some point before 2 ABY. She was assigned to the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser Liberty, and in that year, 2 ABY, she participated in and won the Miss Liberty pageant. It was at this time that she gained the call sign "Lady Blue."

Ace Azzameen, with whom Lady Blue arranged a date, before her death

After the Battle of Hoth in 3 ABY, Lady Blue encountered Emon Azzameen, a pilot allied with the Alliance, whose family had sought sanctuary with the Rebels after being labeled as traitors to the Galactic Empire. Azzameen told her about his younger brother, Ace, who was also serving as a starfighter pilot on the Liberty, and she decided she wanted to meet him. Lady Blue sent Ace an e-mail to Ace, asking if he would be interested in going on a date, and said that she would contact him to arrange a time after she returned from a reconnaissance mission to the Japai system. She also included a picture of herself in the message.

However, Lady Blue was killed near the Japai system, along with fellow pilots Tabba and Kraigg, before she had the chance to meet Ace in person. A funeral service was held for all three pilots aboard the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser Defiance not long after their deaths. Emon later sent his brother an e-mail apologizing for his inability to attend the funeral and for how the situation had unfolded. Ace kept the picture Lady Blue had sent him on the wall of his room aboard his personal YT-2000 light freighter, the Otana.

Personality and traits

Lady Blue had fair skin and blonde hair. She was considered to be an attractive woman, which led to her being chosen as Miss Liberty in 2 ABY. Emon Azzameen believed that she would be a suitable match for his brother, Ace, and he tried to arrange a date for them. Although she typically avoided dating other pilots, she was intrigued by Emon's description of Ace, and she decided to make an exception for him and ask him out.

Equipment

Lady Blue's attire consisted of the standard Rebel flight suit.

Behind the scenes

Lady Blue was a character developed for the 1999 video game Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance, released by LucasArts. In the game, she is the subject of a series of emails exchanged with the player character, Ace Azzameen, as they attempt to plan a date. An email from Emon to Ace Azzameen about Lady Blue is sent before the Battle 3 mission, "Supply Rebels with Warheads." At the same time, a picture of Lady Blue is visible in Ace's room. If the player zooms in on this image, a caption underneath mentions that she died before meeting Ace. However, Lady Blue continues to email Ace after the mission, and an email announcing her death and funeral arrangements does not appear until after the mission "Recon Imperial Research Center."
