Creatures known as lake-divers inhabited the planet Pondakree. Due to their simple capture, Emarr Ottkreg, a native of Pondakree, drew a comparison to them when he observed the Galactic Empire's effortless destruction of numerous Alliance to Restore the Republic starships during the Battle of Endor.
The short story "The Levers of Power" marked the initial mention of lake-divers. This story, penned by Jason Fry, was included within the The Rise of the Empire collection of stories, released in 2015.
