Langston, a planet known for its mining operations and mountainous terrain, existed in the galaxy near the edge of the Oggustus Nebula. This world held valuable minerals, notably the uncommon nyix, and consequently became the target of an attack by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the initial stages of the Clone Wars against the Galactic Republic. Following the Grand Army of the Republic's successful defense against the Separatist invasion, Jedi Knights Anakin Skywalker and D'urban Wen-Hurd, accompanied by the 302nd Battalion, were sent to the planet on an aid mission.
