Last Tour to Endor information
The "Last Tour to Endor" was a distinctive occasion that took place at Disney's Hollywood Studios for those attending Celebration V on August 14, 2010; it began at 8 PM and lasted until 1 AM the following morning. This event served as the farewell ride for the original Star Tours attraction, which permanently closed its doors on September 7 of that same year.
The special entertainment provided included: appearances by George Lucas; appearances from several Star Wars characters; opportunities to participate in the Jedi Training Academy that was part of the Star Wars Weekends event; a dance party called the Death Star Disco; dancing at the Bespin Stage Dance Party; a live showing of Raiders of the Lost Jedi Temple of Doom: A Fan Film of Epic Proportions; viewing the Hyperspace Hoopla; a fireworks presentation entitled Symphony in the Stars, and the official Star Tours closing ceremony.
The closing ceremony featured a live performance on stage with a variety of Star Wars characters, such as C-3PO, R2-D2, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, and numerous stormtroopers; the show concluded with Boba Fett using a thermal detonator to blow up Star Tours, an effect achieved through pyrotechnics.
