Laurie Goode, a British actor, appeared as an uncredited extra in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope and took on several roles. These included: a Saurin patron in the cantina, an X-wing starfighter pilot during the Rebel briefing, and several stormtrooper roles. Goode claims to be the individual who bumped his head.
Goode stated that he stepped in for Peter Dukes, who was ill, as a stormtrooper because their measurements were identical. His filming began in April of 1976 as one of the stormtroopers invading the blockade runner. He later filmed scenes on the Death Star, and recalls a scene where he hit his head on a gantry while filming. Several other actors have also claimed responsibility for this famous on-screen mistake. Goode also played a Saurin, because the original actress for one of the two Saurins was sick and unable to film.
Goode was a Star Wars guest at the Memorabilia convention in Birmingham, UK, in November of 2013, where he signed autographs.
