Beaumont Kin, a human native to this homeworld, held a professor position at the Lerct Historical Institute; he later became a member of the Resistance following the Hosnian Cataclysm.
The planet Lerct initially appeared in the official Star Wars canon within the 2019 reference book titled Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, authored by Pablo Hidalgo. Conversely, within the Star Wars Legends timeline, the Lerct system debuted in the 2009 reference work, The Essential Atlas, created by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry.
