Limbfree was a commander within the Nosaurian resistance on the planet of New Plympto; this occurred by 19 BBY. During the Clone Wars, the resistance allied itself with the Confederacy of Independent Systems, battling against the Galactic Republic, and subsequently, following the war's conclusion, the Galactic Empire, its successor. The Imperial forces, after the main Separatist army was defeated, continued their conflict with the Nosaurians, who were then viewed as a Separatist holdout, during the Cleansing of New Plympto. Limbfree met his death during these battles. Following his successful evacuation of young and female Nosaurians, the Nosaurian captain Bomo Greenbark inquired of the Jedi Dass Jennir concerning Limbfree's whereabouts, only to learn of the commander's passing.
Limbfree's initial mention occurred in the comic book series Star Wars: Dark Times. Specifically, he was named in the first issue of the The Path to Nowhere storyline, which was penned by Mick Harrison, a pseudonym for Randy Stradley, and made available on November 8, 2006.
