Lod

Lod, a male slave master of the Toydarian species, possessed a young Human female named Marka as property during the concluding years of the New Sith Wars. After the destruction of a structure on a certain planet, the two encountered the Sith Master Finn and his apprentice. He gave Marka the order to try and impress the Sith, hoping to sell her to them. Upon her refusal, Lod assaulted Marka, causing her to fall. Subsequently, Lod engaged in conversation with Finn and denigrated the apprentice, which provoked the younger man. The apprentice then murdered Lod, thereby liberating Marka from enslavement.

Biography

During the final years of the New Sith Wars, lived Lod, a male Toydarian. He was a slave master who held a young Human female named Marka in bondage. Following the destruction of a building on the planet, Lod and Marka came across Finn, the Sith Master, and his apprentice.

Lod attempted to present Marka to the two Sith, telling her to impress them by showing them her teeth. Marka refused, leading Lod to strike her, causing her to fall to the ground. While Lod spoke with Finn, he referred to the apprentice as a slave, which incited the young man's anger. The apprentice of Finn then murdered Lod, thus freeing Marka from her enslavement to the Toydarian.

Personality and traits

Lod owned Marka as a slave.

Lod, the male Toydarian, resorted to physical violence against Marka when she failed to obey his command to make a good impression on Finn and his Sith apprentice. He mistakenly believed that Finn's apprentice was his slave.

Behind the scenes

Lod's initial appearance was in the brief comic, "The Apprentice," featured in Star Wars Tales 17 and authored by Mike Denning. David Nakayama provided the artwork for the comic. Subsequently, the story was compiled into a trade paperback edition and republished in Star Wars Tales Volume 5. The S-canon status was initially applied to believable stories in Star Wars Tales 120 until a non-Tales source made reference to them, at which point the subject matter was elevated to C-canon status. Lod was later given an entry in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia, which elevated the character's appearance in The Apprentice to C-canon.
