Finn's Sith apprentice

This Human male, in the twilight years of the New Sith Wars, served as the apprentice to Sith Master Finn. Alongside Finn, he journeyed to a certain planet and aided in planting an explosive device within a structure. With business concluded with a particular individual, they detonated the bomb, obliterating the building, and made their way to the landing platform where Finn's starship awaited. En route, the apprentice committed the act of murder against Lod, a Toydarian slave owner, liberating the enslaved female Marka from his abusive control. Finn, however, swiftly condemned the young man's act of compassion. After Finn struck him, Marka assisted him in rising and attempted to employ a mind trick to persuade the apprentice to bring her along with the two Sith. He then informed Finn, who already knew of Marka's connection to the Force, and was tasked with dealing with her. Despite this instruction, he did not deal with Marka, and later joined Finn at the Sith Master's vessel, accompanied by the woman. After Finn refused to take Marka, she seized the apprentice's lightsaber and forcibly ejected him from the landing pad, resulting in his fatal fall.

Biography

The apprentice was rebuked by Finn for assisting the slave Marka.

During the closing years of the New Sith Wars, this Human male became the apprentice of Sith Master Finn. Together, they traveled to a certain planet and planted an explosive device within a building. Having concluded their dealings with an individual, the pair exited the structure and detonated the explosive, resulting in its destruction. As the apprentice and Finn proceeded toward the landing platform where their starship was situated, they encountered the Toydarian Lod and his slave, a young woman by the name of Marka. The apprentice intervened when Lod struck her for refusing to entertain the two Sith. During Lod's conversation with Finn, he referred to the apprentice as a slave. This enraged the man, who then ignited his lightsaber and ended Lod's life, thus freeing Marka.

Finn immediately voiced his disapproval of the apprentice's actions in aiding Marka. As the man attempted to speak, Finn asserted that compassion had no place within the Sith Order, and struck the apprentice, causing him to fall to the ground. As Finn continued toward his ship, Marka assisted the apprentice in standing, and then attempted to use a mind trick to convince the young Sith to take her with him and Finn.

The apprentice informed Finn that Marka possessed Force-sensitive abilities, and Finn—who had already sensed her strength in the Force—instructed the young man to deal with her. However, both the apprentice and Marka followed Finn up the turbolift that led to the docking platform where Finn's ship was waiting. As the apprentice attempted to speak with Finn, Marka pleaded with the Sith Master to take her with them so that she could learn the ways of the Sith. Finn refused, stating that he already had the young man as his apprentice. Marka then seized the apprentice's lightsaber and pushed the young man, who had freed her from slavery, off the landing platform, causing him to fall to his death. Marka then took the young man's place as Finn's Sith apprentice.

He appeared uncertain of how to handle Marka after she attempted to persuade Finn to take her along.

Powers and abilities

The apprentice possessed the ability to sense Marka's connection to the Force. However, he was susceptible to her mind tricks. He was proficient in the use of a lightsaber, employing the weapon to kill the Toydarian Lod.

Behind the scenes

The initial appearance of Finn's Sith apprentice occurred in the short comic titled "The Apprentice," which was featured in Star Wars Tales 17 and authored by Mike Denning. The comic's illustrations were created by David Nakayama. The story was subsequently compiled into a trade paperback format and republished in Star Wars Tales Volume 5. Initially, stories within Star Wars Tales 120 were considered S-canon until referenced in a non-Tales source, at which point the subject matter was elevated to C-canon status. The apprentice's mention in Finn's and Marka's entries within The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia elevated the character's appearance in The Apprentice to C-canon status.
