Finn (Sith)

A male Human identified as Finn achieved the rank of Sith Master and functioned as a terrorist during the concluding years of the era known as the New Sith Wars. During his time serving the Sith, he provided training to a young man, taking him as his apprentice. Finn, together with his student, journeyed to a specific planet and concealed a bomb within a structure. Following the completion of dealings with an individual, they detonated the device, obliterating the building, and then made their way to the designated landing area where Finn's personal starship awaited. When Finn's apprentice committed murder against Lod, the Toydarian owner of slaves, in order to liberate a female Marka, Finn expressed disapproval towards the young man's actions. The apprentice then revealed to Finn that Marka possessed Force-sensitivity; however, the Sith Master, already aware of this fact, instructed his apprentice to address the situation concerning her. As Finn was embarking upon his vessel, the apprentice, accompanied by Marka, arrived at the landing bay, where she implored Finn to take her aboard so that she might receive instruction in the ways of the Sith. Finn responded by stating that he already had an apprentice, and Marka proceeded to eliminate the young man in order to assume his position as Finn's pupil. Finn then accepted her into his tutelage, but demanded complete and unwavering loyalty from the young woman.

Biography

Finn rebukes his Sith apprentice.

A male Human, known as Finn, achieved the position of Sith Master and acted as a terrorist during the terminal years of the New Sith Wars. He selected a young man to be his Sith apprentice, and provided him with training in the methods of the dark side. Eventually, Finn and his apprentice traveled to a specific world and placed a bomb within a building. After completing their business with an individual, Finn and his pupil left and detonated the bomb, resulting in the building's destruction. As Finn and his apprentice were en route to their starship, they came across Lod, a Toydarian slave owner, and his slave, a young woman known as Marka. When Lod instructed the woman to impress Finn and his apprentice, she refused, leading him to strike her. Finn's apprentice assisted her in getting up and informed Lod that he would not strike Marka again. When Lod referred to the apprentice as a slave while addressing Finn, the man committed murder against the Toydarian. Finn voiced his disappointment to the apprentice, rebuking him for aiding Marka, and struck him, causing the young man to fall to the ground. Following this, Finn continued towards the ship.

After Marka assisted the apprentice in rising from the ground, he rushed to Finn and attempted to inform the Sith Master that Marka had employed a mind trick on him. Finn, having already discerned that Marka was sensitive to the Force, speculated that she might be the reason for their arrival on the planet, and commanded his pupil to deal with her. As Finn reached the landing pad where his ship was docked, the apprentice and Marka caught up to him using the same turbolift. Marka pleaded with Finn, arguing that she could learn the Sith ways. He refused, stating that he had no need for a slave and that he already had an apprentice. In response, Marka seized the apprentice's lightsaber and pushed him off the building's docking pad, resulting in his death from the fall. Finn then accepted Marka as his new apprentice.

Personality and traits

Marka killed Finn's Sith apprentice and took his place.

Finn would scold his male Sith apprentice for exhibiting traits associated with the Jedi, such as empathy. He also physically disciplined his apprentice when he believed that the man had acted in a manner contrary to the Sith principles. During his time spent on the planet where he encountered Marka, Finn considered the world to be a desolate and forsaken place. Upon realizing that Marka was Force-sensitive, he pondered that she was the sole reason for his and his apprentice's arrival on the planet. After Marka became Finn's Sith apprentice, the Sith Master demanded absolute and unwavering loyalty from her.

Finn was attired in a set of black Sith robes, and possessed two tattoos located beneath each eye. He also bore a scar on the left side of his face.

Powers and abilities

Finn possessed sufficient strength to attain the rank of Sith Master. He was capable of sensing Marka's strong connection to the Force when she and her slave master, Lod, approached him and his apprentice.

Behind the scenes

Finn made his initial appearance in the short comic titled "The Apprentice," which was featured in Star Wars Tales 17 and authored by Mike Denning. In the comic, he was illustrated by David Nakayama. The story was subsequently compiled into a trade paperback edition and republished in Star Wars Tales Volume 5. Plausible narratives within Star Wars Tales 120 were initially regarded as S-canon, unless and until they were referenced in a non-Tales source, at which point the subject matter was elevated to C-canon status. Finn later received an entry in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia, which elevated the character's appearance in The Apprentice to C-canon.
