Lonno Deso's initial introduction to the canon occurred in the 2015 novel Before the Awakening, authored by Greg Rucka. This novel served as a prologue to the film Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens. His visual depiction first materialized in the young-adult book titled Poe and the Missing Ship.
