During the time when the Galactic Empire was ascending to power, Lorac reigned as the sovereign of the world Velmor. As the spouse of Queen Denira, Lorac was the progenitor of two sons: Denid, the heir apparent, and his sibling Anod. In the year 17 BBY, after discovering the king's rebellious inclinations, the Empire orchestrated a putsch against Lorac, inciting a crowd to attack the royal residence and assassinate both the king and his queen. Denid was compelled to escape into banishment, whereas Anod stayed on as the new crown prince, now loyal to the Empire.
The initial reference to Lorac occurred within the pages of Star Wars (1977) 49, a comic penned by Mike W. Barr and made available to the public in the year 1981.
