Lorana Jinzler

Lorana Jinzler, a Human female Jedi Knight of the esteemed Jedi Order, once served as the Padawan to the notable Jedi Master Jorus C'baoth. Her physical features included dark hair, mesmerizing gray eyes, and a height that could be described as average.

Biography

Early life

On the planet of Coruscant, in 49 BBY, Lorana Jinzler entered the world. Her parents, both employed at the Jedi Temple located on Coruscant, harbored a shared aspiration: that one of their offspring would undergo training as a Jedi. Her father held the position of an electronics technician. Lorana held the distinction of being the third child among the four Jinzler children. A mere ten months following her birth, Jinzler was formally inducted into the ranks of the Jedi Order. However, due to the stipulations of the Jedi Code concerning emotional bonds and relationships, her parents were soon relieved of their duties at the Temple. Despite this, they maintained awareness of her Jedi training through a sympathetic friend who remained employed at the Temple. This situation inadvertently fostered jealousy in her younger brother, Dean, who would not encounter Lorana in person until years later, during the launch of Outbound Flight. Jinzler's temperament as an apprentice was characterized by humility and a kind nature. This created a strained dynamic with her master, Jorus C'baoth, who possessed a gruff demeanor and set exceedingly high standards. Jinzler found C'baoth's belief in the superiority of Jedi over non-Force users troubling, but her timidity prevented her from voicing her concerns. Consequently, she did not develop the close bond that often existed between Padawans and their Jedi Masters. Unlike her master, who firmly believed that Jedi were inherently entitled to govern and oversee those lacking Force-sensitive abilities, Jinzler often questioned the role of the Jedi.

Her Jedi training resulted in a lack of contact with her family. However, she was unknowingly observed by them in various instances. Her family would observe her with C'baoth and other Jedi at city festivals. Dean took pride in being neglected by his family, as they often compared him to Lorana and questioned why he wasn't Force-sensitive as well. Because of this, Dean spoke ill of his sister, which would later burden them both. Dean also constantly followed Lorana and C'boath around on Coruscant and knew where she and her master went on missions, despite her never realizing he was stalking her.

Mission to Barlok

Prior to her ascension to the rank of Jedi Knight, Lorana accompanied C'baoth on a mission to the planet of Barlok. There, they crossed paths with Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Padawan, Anakin Skywalker. C'baoth dismissed them while he attended a meeting. Subsequently, Lorana was captured by terrorists but was rescued by Kenobi and Skywalker. The following day, she attempted unsuccessfully to intercept a missile intended to destroy the negotiators. However, her master intervened and successfully destroyed the missile.

At the age of 22, Lorana was elevated to the rank of Jedi Knight shortly before the commencement of Outbound Flight. This promotion was largely due to Master C'boath's desire for her to accompany him on the mission.

Outbound Flight project

Her master selected Lorana to participate in the Outbound Flight exploration mission. In stark contrast to C'baoth, she possessed a more balanced and modest demeanor. During the initial phases of the flight, she dedicated herself to pacifying the discontented passengers.

The unprovoked attack on Outbound Flight by Commander Thrawn resulted in numerous unintended fatalities, and Lorana became acutely aware of C'baoth's descent toward the dark side. She endeavored to reach her former master in time to offer assistance, but she sensed his demise during the second wave of assault droids. Following the extensive destruction of the outer ships by Kinman Doriana, Lorana and the fifty-seven passengers imprisoned by C'baoth in the central storage core emerged as the sole survivors.

In her efforts to salvage the ship, Lorana encountered Syndic Thrass, Thrawn's brother, along with Jorj Car'das, on the bridge of D-One. She and Thrass devised a plan to land the ship on a planetoid situated within The Redoubt, with D-Three positioned on top, enabling them to utilize the small ship present there to seek assistance. However, the surviving passengers had relocated to D-Four. Faced with the necessity of landing D-One on the bottom to safeguard the colonists, Lorana and Thrass made the ultimate sacrifice, giving their lives for the survivors in D-Four.

Legacy

Nearly half a century after her passing, her brother embarked on a journey to the wreckage of Outbound Flight alongside the Jedi Luke and Mara Jade Skywalker when it was rediscovered by the Chiss. Her skeletal remains were found next to Thrass's remains in one of the cockpits of the Outbound Flight Project. Lorana Jinzler was also remembered by one of the Survivors of Outbound Flight, Jorad Pressor, who had known her as 'Jedi Lorana' back when he was a child. Because of this, Dean Jinzler was released from a trap that was set by the Survivors to try resolving the problem diplomatically.

Lorana's weapon of choice was a green-bladed lightsaber, distinguished by an amethyst gem in place of the activation stud (a gem that, unbeknownst to Lorana, had been a gift from her parents). This lightsaber was recovered by Luke Skywalker, but was later destroyed.

Personality and traits

Lorana, a human female who progressed from Padawan to Jedi Knight, stood at a medium height, with dark hair and striking gray eyes. To most people, Jinzler appeared to be a normal Jedi. Jinzler possessed a blend of humility, kindness, and a broad awareness stemming from her connection to the Force. However, she lacked self-assurance, a trait exacerbated by her association with Jorus C'baoth, who exuded confidence and expected his Padawans to emulate his self-assuredness. Despite her deep unease with C'baoth's ideology of Jedi superiority over non-Force users, Jinzler's timidity often prevented her from confronting him or addressing the issue. Obi-Wan Kenobi recognized this, and attempted to make her feel that she belonged and should not feel so unsure when the two worked together briefly.

Jinzler's caring nature was evident in her selfless sacrifice to save the Survivors of Outbound Flight. She regretted the animosity her brother harbored toward her, urging him to release his anger. Decades later, Dean came to peace with her death, revealing to himself that he really loved her.

Equipment

Lorana Jinzler's primary weapon was a green lightsaber. She typically wore light colored Jedi robes.
