Born in the time of the Republic Dark Age, Lureia was a Human female.
During the Second Charge of Matrica, Lureia found herself on a frontier world, a battleground between the Sith Lords Daiman and Odion. The conflict led to the death of her entire family, save for her older sister. Around 1032 BBY, when Lureia was about ten years old, her sister also met her end. For an entire week, Lureia existed in a state of terror until talent scouts from Industrial Heuristics discovered her. They saw potential in her, believing she could excel in repulsorlift design. Consequently, Lureia was dispatched to the planet Gazzari, where she was to serve on an arxeum, a mobile war sciences university previously owned by the Quermian Sith Lord Ayanos Bactra and later acquired by Daiman. However, the Battle of Gazzari resulted in the arxeum's destruction, forcing Lureia and her fellow students to flee the planet with the Jedi Knight Kerra Holt on the mercenary transport known as the Diligence. While on board, Lureia remained secluded in her bunk, continuously folding and unfolding a blue headband that once belonged to her sister.
