Mabari armor

The Mabari armor, alternatively referred to as Mabari armorweave or Mabari steelweave, represented a form of protective gear crafted by the Mabari people.

Description

Zam Wesell wearing Mabari armorweave.

This armor provided substantial defense against energy weapons, such as blasters, but its effectiveness was diminished against kinetic-based attacks. A full set included a helmet, a chest plate, gloves, a belt, pants, and boots. The pants incorporated a metal kama-styled skirt. It was produced in a range of colors.

Visually, Mabari armor bore resemblances to Jal Shey and Zeison Sha armored robe.

History

The Mabari, an ancient order of warrior knights hailing from Zolan, were the ones who originally developed Mabari steelweave.

During the Separatist Crisis, the bounty hunter known as Zam Wesell donned Mabari armor. Furthermore, numerous bounty hunters aligned with the Confederacy of Independent Systems were known to utilize this armor type during the Clone Wars.

By the era of the Galactic Civil War, the primary users of Mabari armor were mercenaries. In the aftermath of the Battle of Yavin, Ree-Yees presented a Mabari steelweave to a spacer who had successfully completed several missions for him and Jabba the Hutt. Around that time, a trader came across the Sanyassan Marauder armorsmith named Macchbraus on the Forest Moon of Endor. Macchbraus asked the trader to make him bone, composite, padded, and Mabari armors in return for teaching him how to create Marauder armors.
