Bone armor

Armor made of bone was a form of armor that was constructed using the bones taken from different species of creatures. It provided defense not only against kinetic impacts but also against energy weapons like blasters. A standard full set of this armor included a helmet, chest piece, coverings for the left and right biceps, left and right forearm protectors, hand coverings, leg coverings, and foot coverings. The quality of bone armors was quite variable, as it depended heavily on both the expertise of the artisan and the specific kind of animal bone that was used.

In the time of the Galactic Civil War, numerous spacers and lawbreakers made use of bone armors. Following the Battle of Yavin, a merchant came across Macchbraus, a Sanyassan Marauder armorsmith, on the Forest Moon of Endor. Macchbraus asked the merchant to fashion composite, padded, Mabari, and bone armors for him; in return, he would teach the merchant how to produce Marauder armors.
