Machineville

Machineville, situated within the Lower City of Taris (a planet), functioned as a dedicated district. This area, specifically designated for the city's droid inhabitants, provided facilities for recharging and upkeep. Furthermore, Machineville earned the moniker "birthplace of the swoop-bike" within the racing circles of Taris. Its location placed it in proximity to several refugee encampments established during the Mandalorian Wars, effectively acting as a protective barrier between these settlements and the broader Lower City area.

Description

During the Mandalorian Wars era, Machineville existed as a sector of Taris' Lower City, a planet. Befitting its designation, Machineville was reserved for the droid populace of the Lower City, offering a location for self-repair and power restoration. Additionally, the zone performed the function of a buffer, separating the rest of the Lower City from the refugee settlements that sprung up during the Mandalorian Wars. The area was situated in proximity to both a historical Lhosan Industries plant and the desolate Junk Junction region of the Lower City.

History

During the time of the Mandalorian Wars, numerous refugees began to establish encampments in the vicinity of Machineville. This district was celebrated as the "birthplace of the swoop-bike" by the racing enthusiasts of Taris. Over time, Machineville came to be viewed as a protective zone dividing these camps from the remainder of the Lower City. In 3963 BBY, the Mandalorians invaded Taris, inflicting widespread devastation across the urban landscape. Thousands of Tarisians sought sanctuary within the recently deserted Lhosan Industries factory near Machineville, only to have their refuge destroyed by the Mandalorians. The resulting loss of life was reportedly substantial.
