She started her career with the Galactic Empire by collaborating with Lorem, Azier, and Dirjo Harch on Project Swarm at the swarm processing center. Maela possessed the capability to launch a multitude of probe droids, numbering in the tens of thousands. While overseeing different units, she observed a variety of planets, encompassing deserts, oceans, and jungles. Subsequently, she viewed footage originating from the planet Hoth, revealing substantial metal constructions generating energy. Before she could establish a connection to control the droid, it initiated self-destruction, leading Maela to conclude that she had located the rebel base. After informing Harch of her discovery, the information was relayed to the Executor, confirming the base's location. The quartet departed the Swarm processing center to commemorate their achievement, with Lorem attributing the success to Maela. Subsequently, Maela persisted in her reconnaissance efforts, which involved erasing the recorded data of the planet Dagobah.
