Manda, a celestial body rich in transport options, resided within the Mid Rim region of the galaxy. The freighter known as the Eclipse once jumped into hyperspace en route to Manda, with the intention of disembarking a number of its crew. Around 10 BBY, Tibbs Ospe, who operated the Lodge located on the planet Vandor, believed Vandor could serve as an advantageous stopping point for traders traveling either to Manda or Deneba; consequently, he refurbished the dilapidated former base of the Ypsobay Trading Company, repaired the damaged landing strips, and advertised the availability of fuel and food at Fort Ypso.
The initial reference to Manda within Star Wars canon occurred in Melissa Scott's 2015 short story, "Mercy Mission."
Within Star Wars Legends, Manda was initially featured in "Tail of the Roon Comets," which was the tenth episode of Star Wars Droids: The Adventures of R2-D2 and C-3PO, which was broadcast back in 1985.
