In eras long past times, a set of crusades were waged by a band of Mandalorian fighters referred to as the Mandalorian crusaders, and these crusades brought them into opposition with the Jedi Order. During one such crusade, which targeted the Inner Rim region of the galaxy, they devastated the planet of Ubduria because they despised the natives, the Ubdurians, considering them to be dishonorable and cowardly. It was during these old crusades that Cubist murals depicting Mandalorian crusaders battling Jedi were produced.
The initial visual representation of the Mandalorian crusades appeared in a mural featured in "The Mandalore Plot," which is the twelfth episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars' second season, a canon animated series. Its original broadcast date was January 29, 2010. The conflict's origins were established in The Essential Atlas, a Star Wars Legends reference book authored by Jason Fry and Daniel Wallace, and it was made available on August 18, 2009.
