Marauder Battle Armor

The Marauder battle armor, alternatively known as Marauder armor, was a form of protective gear originating from the Sanyassan Marauders located on the Forest Moon of Endor; for more information, consult the armor entry. It was designed to provide defense against both kinetic impacts and energy weapons, such as blasters. Typically, this armor was constructed from any readily available pliable materials possessing protective qualities. Consequently, its protective capability varied significantly, depending on the specific materials employed and the expertise of the armorsmith. A standard complete set of this armor included a helmet, chest plate, upper arm protection for both arms, forearm protection for both arms, gloves, leg coverings, and boots. It was produced in a variety of colors. Furthermore, there were two additional variations of Marauder armor: the Marauder assault armor and the Marauder recon armor. Beyond its use by the Sanyassan Marauders on Endor, spacers also utilized Marauder armor during the Galactic Civil War.

Following the Battle of Yavin, King Terak presented a spacer who had successfully completed several missions for him and the Sanyassan Marauders with a suit of Marauder armor.

Behind the scenes

The Marauder armor made its debut in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game. This game was created by Sony Online Entertainment and distributed by LucasArts, before the game's servers were shut down on December 15, 2011. The Marauder armor's name was changed to Marauder battle armor when the armor was adjusted to fit the new armor mechanics introduced in the "Combat Upgrade," which was released on April 27, 2005.
