IMG-099 Imperial Mark IV patrol droid

The IMG-099 Imperial Mark IV patrol droid, which also went by the name Imperial Mark IV sentry droid, represented a specific sentry droid design. This design was a product of the Imperial Department of Military Research. During the Galactic Civil War, the Galactic Empire employed these droids for reconnaissance purposes. These droids, which flew at low altitudes, possessed advanced sensor technology and the ability to capture holographic recordings. In the aftermath of a battle over Tatooine involving the CR90 corvette Tantive IV and the Star Destroyer Devastator, the Empire deployed Mark IV units. Their mission was to aid sandtroopers in the search for R2-D2 and C-3PO, two droids that were in possession of stolen plans related to the Death Star.
