Market Street, situated in the Upper City of the Outer Rim world of Taris, existed during the Mandalorian Wars. A notable outdoor marketplace known as the Market Street Outdoor Exchange was located there. The Mandalorian clans invaded Taris in 3963 BBY, leading to extensive plundering of Market Street before its eventual capture by the Mandalorians.
As of 3964 BBY, Market Street was a district within the Upper City of the Outer Rim planet Taris. The Market Street Outdoor Exchange was located there, serving as an open-air venue where vendors and industrialists could seek investments for items like fleek eels.
In 3,964 BBY, Market Street, the location of the Market Street Outdoor Exchange, was where a Snivvian industrialist, Baron Hieromarn, presented a sales proposal. Hieromarn tried to gain investors for a project involving the transportation of fleek eels from the Hocekureem Sea on Falleen to Taris for the local restaurant industry, promising a three-to-one return on investment once a tanker was chartered and staffed. The following year, during the Mandalorian Wars against the Galactic Republic, Mandalorian warrior clans besieged Taris. During the conflict, Market Street experienced significant looting. Soon after the looters departed, the Mandalorians arrived and took control of Market Street.
Market Street's initial mention was in The Taris Holofeed: Prime Edition, an in-universe news piece found on the final page of Knights of the Old Republic 0, a comic written by John Jackson Miller and published in 2006. It was also referenced in The Taris Holofeed: Invasion Edition, a similar news report in Knights of the Old Republic 18.
