The Maw fleet consisted of four Imperial I-class Star Destroyers constructed by Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin. These vessels were intended to protect the Maw Installation and were under the leadership of Admiral Natasi Daala. The fleet's composition included the Gorgon, the Basilisk, the Hydra, the Manticore, along with a pair of Crusader-class corvettes.
Following the fleet's departure from the Maw to engage the New Republic in combat, the fleet faced gradual annihilation. The Hydra met its end when Han Solo piloted the Sun Crusher directly through its bridge. The Manticore was lost during the [Attack on Mon Calamari].(/article/attack_on_mon_calamari) The Basilisk was destroyed by Kyp Durron, who utilized the Sun Crusher to obliterate the Cauldron Nebula. The Gorgon was the sole survivor that participated in the Battle of the Maw Installation, but it sustained so much damage that it was intentionally wrecked after reaching Supreme Warlord Harrsk's forces located in the Deep Core.
