Meeko Ghintee, a Muttani male, plied his trade as a criminal during the Invasion of Naboo. This infamous cheat earned his living through illicit activities in the seedy underworld of beast-fighting arenas, particularly those located on Outland Transit Station.
Ghintee was known for his unscrupulous practice of equipping his fighting animals with remote control devices. From his hidden vantage point in the rafters above the arena, he manipulated his creatures to gain an unfair advantage. This deceitful tactic frequently skewed the odds in his favor, leading to numerous incarcerations. Despite these setbacks, Meeko remained unrepentant and consistently returned to the pit-fighting circuits upon his release, eager to resume his fraudulent schemes.

Following the Invasion of Naboo, the Republic Correctional Authority placed a high priority on capturing Meeko, who was wanted for a string of offenses including murder, assault, and theft. Eventually, Ghintee was apprehended and sentenced to life imprisonment at Desolation Alley, a notorious penal facility on Oovo IV. However, he managed to escape, stealing the Longshot in the process. His freedom was short-lived, as Jango Fett soon tracked him down to Outland Station. Initially, Meeko attempted to deter the bounty hunter by unleashing his remote-controlled borhek upon him, using the distraction to flee into the station's labyrinthine streets. He then hijacked a speeder, only to crash it and continue his escape on foot. Cornered at the docking bay, Meeko desperately tried to eliminate Fett by activating his ship's weapon systems. However, Fett's superior skills allowed him to severely damage the Longshot, capture Meeko, and claim the bounty for the capture of the alien criminal.
Meeko was returned to Desolation Alley and given a second life sentence to run consecutively with his initial one. Fate intervened when Jango Fett arrived on Oovo IV in pursuit of Komari Vosa, presenting Meeko with an opportunity for another escape. Ghintee joined a mining crew extracting ore from the planetoid's surface, successfully fleeing the prison—and Fett—in a mining vehicle. However, Fett unexpectedly crossed paths with them while seeking his own way off the planet. Terrified, Meeko tried to shoot Fett down using a rotary blaster cannon, but the bounty hunter's expertise proved insurmountable. Fett swiftly dispatched Meeko, unaware that the criminal had a substantial bounty on his head (10,000 Republic credits), which Fett later collected. Ironically, the bounty had been placed by the owner of the champion borhek that Meeko had cheated to defeat in the Outland Station beast pit fight.
In the video game Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, players have the option to target Meeko for a bounty during the "Merchant Row" section of chapter one. However, the bounty cannot be claimed until the conclusion of the chapter's cutscene.
Later in the game, within the "Chapter 3: The Break Out" level, Meeko appears as a secondary bounty worth 10,000 credits, the highest reward for a secondary target in the game. He is located in a cave near the level's end, accompanied by three other prisoners. They are attempting to operate a mining machine to escape Desolation Alley prison on Oovo IV. He is also the last secondary bounty available in the level. The official strategy guide mistakenly identifies his homeworld as "Kaldun."
