Megalox, alternatively referred to as Megalox Beta Penitentiary or simply Megalox Penitentiary, was a prison operated by a private entity. It was situated on the planet called Megalox Beta. The sheer scale and mass of the planet resulted in a gravity field ten times the normal strength, an environment lethal to any living being attempting to exist on its surface. To counteract this, a grav-field, generated by a space station orbiting the planet, enveloped the prison facility. This field shielded the prisoners from the crushing gravity of Megalox Beta, while simultaneously preventing any possibility of them breaking free. The space station positioned above the prison served as the command center, from which Warden Luta and a contingent of guards managed the facility. Notably, the guards themselves were not stationed within the prison walls. Instead, the inmates were left to their own devices, subsisting on provisions supplied by Luta from the station.
