Mirial Teacake

Mirial Teacakes were a type of cake with pink and green hues, taking their name from the planet of Mirial, a desert world whose color palette the teacakes mirrored. A recipe for these Mirial Teacakes was featured in The Life Day Cookbook, the second cookbook by Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs, which he published sometime after his initial cookbook in 34 ABY.

Tuggs included the recipe in his book as a lighter dessert choice for those who might be full from the main meal, but he did suggest that readers prepare a larger quantity, just in case their guests had bigger appetites than anticipated. Tuggs also made it clear to readers that the cakes were much more moist than the desert planet they were named after.

Behind the scenes

The recipe for Mirial Teacakes was specifically created for the 2021 cookbook Star Wars: The Life Day Cookbook, authored by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak. The out-of-universe recipe calls for ingredients like flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, vanilla yogurt, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, separated large eggs, cream of tartar, pink food gel dye, matcha powder, and confectioners' sugar.
