Before the scheme to murder Senator Amidala was hatched, Jango Fett, accompanied by his son Boba Fett, and a trio of additional bounty hunters, embarked upon a Mission to Ord Mantell. Their objective was to seize a fleeing Twi'lek, who sought membership in the Black Sun syndicate, located on the planet of Ord Mantell. Following her capture, the bounty hunters Rinn and Tiver double-crossed the Fetts, aiming to claim the reward money entirely for themselves. Boba subsequently killed them both, and permitted the remaining bounty hunter to escape without receiving payment, so that he could spread word to the other bounty hunters. Consequently, Jango considered this mission to represent the genesis of Boba's storied career.
