Neelda

Neelda, a Rodian bounty hunter of the male gender, operated in the underworld. He was contracted, along with Tiver and Rinn, a duo, as well as the renowned Jango Fett and his son Boba Fett, to retrieve a Twi'lek runaway and return her to her father. Following the capture of the girl, Rinn and Tiver double-crossed their fellow hunters, taking Boba as a hostage, but Boba ultimately killed them. The youthful Boba spared Neelda's life, stating that he did not believe Neelda was involved in the treachery, and hoping that Neelda would spread the story of the event to other bounty hunters, and thus begin to establish Boba's reputation.

Biography

During his time as a bounty hunter, Neelda collaborated with Rinn, a Gand, and Tiver, a Chadra-Fan. Sometime before the scheme to murder Senator Amidala, the three were employed by a man to bring back his runaway daughter. Neelda and his two associates awaited the arrival of Jango Fett, who had also been hired, within a cantina located on Telerath. Upon his arrival, the bounty hunters took notice of his son, Boba, assuming that Fett was being tailed. Fett introduced Boba, and Neelda displayed no reservations about the addition to their group.

After departing from Telerath, they journeyed to Ord Mantell, where they observed the Twi'lek as she exited a cantina. Neelda reminded Rinn that their objective was to ensure the target remained unharmed, a point that the Gand disregarded. When the Twi'lek rendezvoused with her Falleen lover, Griph, the bounty hunters moved in to confront her. Neelda instructed Griph to leave, and he fled, abandoning the Twi'lek. Before the bounty hunters could seize her, the Twi'lek leaped from the balcony's edge. Fett, who had been positioned below, used his jetpack to ascend and catch her. While Rinn and Tiver were displeased, as they felt Fett was boasting, Neelda was impressed by the feat. Fett used a stun weapon on the Twi'lek, and they started back to his ship, the Slave I.

Before their arrival, Tiver knocked Boba to the ground, and Rinn demanded that Fett release the Twi'lek to them. Surprised, Neelda questioned his comrades' actions, but Rinn silenced him with a death threat. Fett declined to exchange the Twi'lek for Boba, which surprised Tiver. However, Boba used a concealed blaster to eliminate Tiver and free himself. As Fett and Neelda looked on, Boba turned to disarm Rinn before shooting the Gand. Neelda picked up the blaster Boba had dropped during Tiver's attack and handed it to Fett. However, Fett turned to his son, seeking his opinion on whether the Rodian should be spared. Neelda attempted to dissuade them from killing him, but Fett left the decision to his son. Because Neelda had not participated in the betrayal, and so that word of the events would spread, Boba decided to let him live but forfeit his share of the bounty. Relieved, Neelda agreed that the arrangement was fair before fleeing from the two Fetts.

Personality and traits

Neelda, a male Rodian, possessed green skin and purple eyes. Despite his profession as a bounty hunter, Neelda displayed ethical principles in his missions, expressing a desire to keep the Twi'lek target safe and questioning Rinn and Tiver's treachery. However, he took no action to prevent them from threatening Boba's life, causing them to suffer the consequences of their deeds, which led Tiver to label him a coward. He was content to forfeit his portion of the reward in exchange for his life, choosing to flee rather than engage in combat.
