In the year 23 BBY, Jango Fett, a bounty hunter, was contracted alongside fellow bounty hunters Neelda, Rinn, and Tiver for a capture mission involving a Twi'lek girl on Ord Mantell, a planet in the Mid Rim. During the time of the Galactic Empire, a group visited the island resort of Manala, located on Telerath. They were seeking information from the notorious judge Mazzum Onas about a rumored combat tournament in the Nouane sector. However, their search for Onas led them into conflict with local gangs, resulting in their arrest after a brawl. Onas oversaw their case, and the group eventually defeated him in combat, earning them an invitation to the tournament.
Despite its reputation as a resort world, Telerath faced issues with gang violence. Several local gangs were involved in moving enslaved people and spice on the planet.
