The Sith Lord Darth Vader undertook a quest to the planet Shu-Torun, a mining world situated in the Mid Rim. The purpose of this journey was to guarantee the delivery of sufficient ore, necessary for ongoing Imperial construction endeavors. While there, the King of Shu-Torun, who had betrayed the Empire, attempted to have Vader killed, but this attempt failed. Ultimately, the King met his own end, dispatched by the Sith's assassin droids BT-1 and 0-0-0. Subsequently, Vader installed the king's last living offspring, Princess Trios, as the new queen, entrusting her with the responsibility of ensuring future ore quotas were fulfilled.
The initial depiction of Vader's Shu-Torun mission occurred in Darth Vader Annual 1, a comic book authored by Kieron Gillen, with artwork by Leinil Francis Yu. It was released in 2015.
