Munduri

Munduri and Sonsigo, both Bravaisian podmates, shared a professional relationship rooted in their mutual fascination with gleaming gems and precious metals. They also offered appraisal services for valuable stones discovered on newly charted planets, offering premium prices for items that piqued their interest. These two individuals were present within the walls of Maz Kanata's castle – a pirate haven located on the planet Takodana – when the smuggler Han Solo arrived, accompanied by the scavenger Rey, the former stormtrooper Finn, and the astromech droid BB-8. Shortly after their arrival, many of the castle's inhabitants streamed outside to witness the destruction of the Hosnian system, a catastrophic event caused by the First Order's Starkiller Base superweapon. The castle itself was subsequently attacked and ultimately destroyed by the First Order's military forces. Munduri was characterized by his blue complexion and delicate eyes, necessitating the use of protective goggles while on Takodana, while the Bravaisian was also present.

Behind the scenes

Munduri made his debut appearance in the motion picture Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, which premiered in North American cinemas on December 18, 2015. The creature and droid performer Damian Farrell was in charge of operating the character, whose physical representation was achieved using a hand puppet that Farrell manipulated from underneath the bench occupied by Sonsigo. During the film's production phase, Munduri and Sonsigo were internally referred to as the "snooty pirates," although they remained unnamed within the film itself. Their official names were later disclosed in the reference publication Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary, authored by Pablo Hidalgo and released concurrently with the movie.
