Naddist army

The military force under the command of Queen Amanoa during Onderon's Beast War conflict in 4000 BBY against the Beast-Lords Modon and Oron Kira and their Beast Riders was known as the Naddist army. This army was composed of Naddist troops, regular Onderonian soldiers forming the bulk of the infantry, darksiders battalions, dark side adepts, and lightsaber-wielding Dark Jedi. Although predominantly made up of Human males, some Dark Jedi commanders were female. By 3998 BBY, the army's strength was increased with the addition of Sith war droids. The Naddist army was later dissolved in the same year, due to the elimination of all its members and factions during the Freedon Nadd Uprising.

In 4000 BBY, the Beast Riders of Onderon faced the Naddist army, led by Novar, Amanoa's apprentice, in battle. During the conflict, Amanoa utilized ancient Sith techniques to enhance her army's military strategies against the Beast Riders. However, the intervention of Jedi Knights, under the leadership of Jedi Master Arca Jeth, rapidly shifted the momentum of the battle, resulting in a victory for the Beast Riders. Jeth employed ancient Jedi techniques to uplift the morale of the Beast Riders while simultaneously weakening the darksiders' will to fight.

Freedon Nadd Uprising

Two years later, a new army aligned with the dark side emerged, directly under the command of Amanoa's husband, the sorcerer King Ommin. This force engaged in war against the Jedi, once again led by Arca Jeth, and the full power of the Republic Navy. King Ommin heavily relied on his Sith war droids in the subsequent battle, while his military leader, a Dark Jedi named Warb Null, spearheaded the ground troops. Arca Jeth and his team of Knights once again defeated Ommin's army, employing the same Jedi battle meditation technique used in the previous war. With the death of King Ommin, his Dark Side Army was also destroyed, restoring peace to Onderon.

Organization of forces

The Naddist army operated with a well-defined command structure. The ruler of Iziz held the position of supreme commander, and orders were distributed through the hierarchy by the reigning King or Queen. During Amanoa's rule, Novar, the Royal advisor, was assigned direct military command, managing the war theater and supervising the progress of the Naddist troops in battle. Novar occasionally participated directly in the fighting, engaging the enemy alongside his subordinates.

Infantry

The Naddist army was composed of various ranks and factions. During Queen Amanoa's reign, the ranks primarily consisted of dark side adepts, individuals who venerated the memory of Dark Lord Freedon Nadd. Officers led from the front lines, with commanders positioned along the walls of Iziz and actively involved in ground combat. Snipers were strategically placed throughout the city, making it challenging for enemy forces to advance through the streets.

While the Queen's Royal advisor, Novar, had command over the majority of the forces, a specialized group of dark side adepts was specifically tasked with serving and protecting the Queen. These Royal Protectors were distinguished by their all-white armor and flowing cloaks, which did not appear to hinder their mobility. Their helmets fully covered their heads and faces, with visors providing visibility. They were armed with bladed, staff-like weapons, which they used effectively in combat, along with ranged energy weapons during firefights with the enemy.

Wave gunners

Naddist wave gunners were soldiers with expertise in operating Iziz's external wall defenses. From these defense towers, they deployed both ion cannon and turbolaser fire against approaching aerial and ground targets. They also wore full-body white armor, with helmets equipped with visors to protect their eyes from the intense light emitted by the cannons and lasers. Although their gear offered basic protection in combat, a few well-aimed blaster shots could penetrate the armor, resulting in the death of the occupant.
