Nahk was one of two offspring born to Noana Sowrs, who served as Sector Constable on the planet of Taris. Along with sibling Tallie, Nahk was abducted by Brejik alongside Griff Vao. Before the abductors could demand payment, widespread unrest erupted on Taris due to the departure of the Jedi and the escape of Zayne Carrick.
The siblings were located after Mission, Griff's younger sister, and Zayne, who had come back to Taris, observed Griff delivering provisions to a storage container located in the Lower City. Gadon Thek, who commanded the Hidden Beks, gave the children back to their mother in exchange for assistance and to bolster the resistance against the Mandalorians who had seized control of the planet through invasion.
As the Mandalorians launched attacks on the Resistance, Noana dispatched the children to their father, who resided on Alderaan. Later, Noana succumbed to the rakghoul disease.
During the development of the Knights of Suffering narrative, John Jackson Miller contemplated incorporating his own children's names into the characters of Nahk and Tallie. However, when he commenced writing the subsequent narrative, he reconsidered the decision to base the characters on his own children, opting for different names, due to the storyline involving their mother, Noana Sowrs, transforming into a rakghoul.
