During the New Order's reign, a clandestine swoop racing event known as the Narmle Memorial Rally took place on Rori's moon. The course snaked its way through the swamp near Narmle, as well as the city's streets. According to old stories, the route was once used by Trein Veltin, a local smuggler, to evade capture by law enforcement. However, his flight came to an abrupt and tragic end when he collided with a carnivorous chuba, resulting in his death. In remembrance of this event, many swoop racers have since competed on this track. It eventually evolved into a somewhat organized, but still illegal, street race track.
Kimmi Chyler and Dash Rendar participated in the Narmle Memorial Rally following the Battle of Yavin.
Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game created by Sony Online Entertainment and released by LucasArts, featured the Narmle Memorial Rally. The game was released in 2003 and shut down on December 15, 2011. A December 20, 2004 update added the Narmle Memorial Rally to the game.
