Navigator

A navigator, alternatively termed an astrogator or navigation officer, was an individual tasked with guiding starships.

On starships, the navigator held the duty of charting the ship's path through hyperspace, employing a navigation computer as an aid. The time required to compute these routes varied based on the complexity of the hyperspace jump. Established routes and pre-computed coordinates could be determined in minutes, whereas deriving coordinates from the beginning could consume several hours. More challenging voyages, such as computing a jump from a location necessitating readings to confirm the ship's position, could extend to a day.

Tessa Manchisco functioned as a navigator within the Virgillian Free Alignment Starfleet. Monnda Tebbo held the position of navigation officer in both the Virgillian Free Alignment Starfleet and the Rebel Alliance, and she acted as the primary Navigator on the Flurry during the Invasion of Bakura. Kane Griggs performed navigator duties on the New Republic Star Destroyer Emancipator during the Battle of Calamari.
